In recent years, an increasing number of attorneys have been active in diverse fields, including national and local governments, as well as research and educational institutions. The Fourth Division of the Japan In-house Lawyers Association (JILA)—a division for in-house counsel who are or have been employed as public servants in government agencies, educational institutions, and the like—has organized this lecture. We hope that students will learn about the reality and rewarding aspects of being a government attorney and that this knowledge will be highly beneficial for their future career development. We encourage you to come and learn about the diverse experiences and perspectives of government attorneys.
