  • About the Lawyers Internship Program

This program is for individuals who have passed the bar examination to gain experience at various domestic and international organizations during the period before their legal apprenticeship begins,

allowing them to broaden their perspectives and employment opportunities.

  • Types of Internship Host Organizations

・Diet Member Course: Internship at the office of a Diet member (a Dot-JP Diet member) in the Diet Members' Office Building.

・Embassy Course: Internship at a foreign diplomatic mission in Japan.

・Corporate Course: Internship at a private company.

*We are collaborating with Intelligence, Ltd. for internships at general companies.

  • Eligibility

Applicants must have passed the bar examination administered in fiscal year 2013.

(*Anyone may apply to attend the information session and for provisional registration.)

  • Participation Fee

A program participation fee is required for each course.

*The participation fee will be used for expenses such as venue costs for information sessions.

The fee also covers insurance for the duration of the program.

We will provide a detailed explanation on the day of the information session.

  • Schedule

June 13: Joint Program Information Session (Tokyo)

June 14–July 30: Provisional application period opens

September 10: Bar examination results announced

From September 10: Formal application period opens (only for those who have passed the bar examination)

Mid-September: Selection process

October 1–30: Lawyers Internship Program period

(*Start and end dates may vary depending on the host organization.)

  • About the Information Session

We will hold an information session for prospective program participants on the following schedule.

If you are interested in the program, please apply using the application form below.

*At the information session, we will explain the program outline for each course, participation fees, insurance, and other support-related matters.
