This is an announcement for a lecture hosted by the Keio University CPS (Cyber-Physical Sustainability) Center, headed by Professor Yuko Kimijima of the Faculty of Law. A lecture by attorney Masahiro Ueda titled "Labor Law Issues Related to Cybernetic Avatars (CA)" will be held on November 18, 2025, from 18:15 at the North Building Hall on Keio University's Mita Campus. Cybernetic Avatars (CA) include avatars in the metaverse operated as a person's alter ego and avatar robots. While the spread of CAs brings new possibilities to ways of working, it also has the potential to highlight issues that conventional labor laws did not anticipate. This lecture focuses on the relationship between CAs and current labor laws, presenting research results that organize labor law issues and future challenges when using CAs, such as working hours management, the duty of care for safety, and health and safety.
