As part of the 3rd "Law Day" of the French diplomatic network, an event titled "The Dawn of Franco-Japanese Legal and Cultural Exchange: Rediscovering Boissonade" will be held. This event commemorates the 200th anniversary of the birth of the French legal scholar Boissonade, who made significant contributions to the modernization of Japan through projects such as the codification of laws. Through presentations and new assessments by French and Japanese researchers on the life and achievements of Boissonade, we will reflect on the history and present of Franco-Japanese legal and cultural exchange.
