Ghassan Hage [Online]
Professor at the University of Melbourne (Cultural Anthropology and Social Theory). Born in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1957, he moved to Australia in 1976. He has held positions at the University of Sydney and other institutions before his current role. He is widely known for his critical writings on nationalism, racism, multiculturalism, and postcolonialism, as well as for his ethnographic research on the transnational Lebanese diaspora. His major works include "White Nation: A Critique of Neo-Nationalism" and "The Distribution Mechanism of Hope: A Critique of Paranoid Nationalism".
