January 28, 2019
From January 28 to February 1, 2019, we held a Japanese law seminar for seven students from Ewha Womans University Law School (South Korea), led by Professor Cho Kyun-seok of the same law school. This seminar has been held annually since the 2015 academic year, making this the fourth time.
The seminar consists of lectures on Japanese law by full-time faculty members of this Juku, visits to judicial facilities (this time, the Research and Training Institute of the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Justice, and a women's juvenile training school), and opinion exchange sessions with law school students of this Juku. This time, the following lectures on Japanese law were offered.
Professor Tatsuya Ota: "Issues and Prospects of Criminal Justice System Reform in Japan"
Professor Juro Iwaya (Dean, Faculty of Law): "Japanese Legal Culture and Iconology"
Professor Hiroki Tadaka: "Considering the Rules of Damages: The Establishment, Application, and Interpretation of Product Liability Law"
Professor Tatsuhiko Yamamoto (Law School): "AI and the Constitution"
Professor Takuma Sato: "Various Criminal Law Issues Surrounding 'Ore-Ore' Fraud"
Lively discussions followed the lectures, allowing for a fruitful exchange of opinions. We hope to continue the seminar in the coming academic years and contribute to broadening the base of academic exchange between Japan and South Korea.
