On Saturday, June 30, 2018, an international symposium titled "Media, History, and Politics in East Asia" was held at the Keio University Mita Campus. Following the opening remarks by Professor Nobuo Takahashi of the Faculty of Law, the first session, "Social Media and Public Opinion in East Asia," was moderated by Associate Professor Kazuko Kojima and featured a presentation by Associate Professor Shuzo Yamagoshi (Institute for Media and Communications Research). The second session, "The Meiji Restoration in East Asian History: A Reflection 150 Years Later," featured a presentation by Professor Nobuto Yamamoto, followed by a discussion by Professor Morihide Katayama. In addition to faculty members, students from the Faculty of Law and graduate students also participated, engaging in a lively discussion. It is hoped that this meaningful academic exchange with the Faculty of Law will continue in the future.
