On November 26, 2018, I was invited by the Graduate School of Xiamen University in China to give an invited lecture and hold a Q&A session titled "Malfunctioning Representative Democracy and Social Welfare," which I delivered in a mix of English and Chinese.
I was impressed by the enthusiasm of the graduate students at Xiamen University, who continued to ask questions about the relationship between representative democracy and social welfare policy even after the scheduled time was over.
