On October 3 and 4 of this year, an academic exchange symposium with the Faculty of Law and Economics, Saarland University was held. There is a history of exchange with the faculty spanning approximately 30 years, and as a general rule, the symposium is held biennially, with each institution taking turns to host. This time, under the common theme of "Legal Issues in the Information Society," researchers from various legal fields presented reports on the latest state of discussions in Japan and Germany. The languages used were German and English, and the event was a great success with lively discussions, including participation from graduate students and others in the audience.
