June 26, 2014
On June 23, 2014, the titular workshop was held at the Sinchon Campus of Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. Professor Nobuto Yamamoto, Associate Professor Junya Nishino, and Professor Ken Tsutsumibayashi from the Faculty of Law and Graduate School of Law traveled to Seoul, leading four graduate students from the Graduate School of Law's Doctoral Programs. They held a joint workshop with faculty members and graduate students from the Department of Political Science and International Studies at Yonsei University. The common theme was "Peace and Democracy in East Asia," and graduate students from both universities gave presentations on the following topics. The working language was English (with the exception of Yonsei graduate student Jaewon Son, who presented in Japanese). Very lively discussions took place, and with numerous comments and pieces of advice from the faculty, it was an extremely meaningful academic exchange.

The exchange was further enriched when Yutaka Oishi, Dean of the Faculty of Law, who was visiting Korea for a meeting the next day to discuss institutionalizing the academic exchange, joined the event partway through. The participating faculty members from Yonsei University across the workshop, reception, and meeting were as follows: Professor Kim Ki-jung, Professor Kim Sang-joon, Professor Choi Young-sook, Professor Bae Jong-yoon, Professor Choi Jong-gun, and Professor Kim Hyoun-joon.
