The 50th Annual Meeting of the Japan Society for Healthcare Administration was held on October 18 and 19. At the general meeting, Keisuke Suzuki, a student in the Ph.D. program of our graduate school's Course for Health Care Management, received the Academic Award.

The Academic Award is presented to the author of the single best paper published in the "Journal of the Japan Society for Healthcare Administration" over the course of a year. His paper, "The Influence of the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Implementation Plan on Family Motivation to Participate" (Vol. 48, No. 4), was selected for this honor.

The award-winning paper is a further development of his master's thesis. Based on his long-held awareness of issues as an occupational therapist, he applied structural equation modeling to a questionnaire survey of families to clarify the impact of the comprehensive rehabilitation implementation plan on family motivation to participate. This research, conducted from the perspective of patients and their families, contributes to more rational improvements of the plan, and further development is expected in the future.
