Mathematical Sciences Program

In the Mathematical Sciences Program, students develop basic mathematical knowledge and the mathematical skills that are useful for studying specialized fields in the Faculty of Business and Commerce. One of the program’s goals is to familiarize students with mathematical thinking as they progress through the program.

We hope that by becoming familiar with mathematical thinking, students will be able to utilize mathematics to solve issues in a wide variety of fields in the future. If you wish to learn to think mathematically and you are interested in wielding mathematics as a useful and powerful tool in the future, we encourage you to join this program.

For students enrolled in the Faculty of Business and Commerce, knowledge of mathematics comes into play in various contexts, whether general equilibrium of tariffs in international economics, optimal resource allocation within constraints in management, maximizing profits and minimizing costs, or marginal costs and price elasticity. Through this program, I realized that a grounding in mathematics serves as a powerful tool for gaining a clearer understanding of the various academic fields that the faculty deals with. Furthermore, by engaging with mathematical questions in this program, I developed the ability to adopt a multifaceted perspective and logically derive solutions, enabling me to cultivate new abilities beyond knowledge of mathematics itself. If you’re looking to build and develop your strengths during your four years in the Faculty of Business and Commerce, I highly enrolling in this program as an opportunity to broaden your horizons.
