Overview
Selected students take classes in “Coursework,” which is equivalent to introductory master's-level courses, and "Workshops," which are seminars in which students work on specific projects to solve a variety of real-world problems in global businesses and organizations. In addition to lectures and factory tours for students by GPP sponsors, students have access to short-term overseas language programs during the spring and summer holidays, which provide students with opportunities to interact with global companies and universities abroad.
Many of the courses are also taken by short-term international students, thus providing a diverse and stimulating learning experience.
GPP offers a study abroad experience without ever leaving the Keio campus and demands students become globally minded leaders.
Three Distinguishing Features of the GPP
This section introduces the three pillars that form the GPP curriculum.
1.Highly specialized coursework
Students gain advanced expertise by taking introductory graduate-level courses offered in English.
2.Workshops with a strong interface between theory and practice
Students take small-group seminar classes taught by international faculty and work on projects to find theory-based solutions to real-world problems. Many international students are enrolled in both the coursework and workshops, allowing Japanese students to learn about diversity and enjoy a simulated study abroad experience right here at Mita Campus.
3.Experiential knowledge activities
Through activities both on and off campus, students will accumulate experience as they find their way as globally minded leaders.
Specifically, the program includes factory tours of multinational companies, guest lectures by international leaders of industry, and a one-week training program abroad.
How do I join the GPP?
Students must apply for and pass the screening process held each semester in order to participate in the GPP program.
How to Join the GPP
The top 40 applicants will be selected based on the results of an English language test (TOEIC, TOEFL iBT, IELTS), their GPA, and a video introduction. Upon completing program requirements, students will be awarded the Global Passport Holder certification by the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Commerce.
