Vertical, Horizontal, and Diagonal Connections

Looking back on my four years of university life while now working as a member of society, I realize now that my university life was full of "vertical, horizontal, and diagonal connections."

I particularly felt these "vertical, horizontal, and diagonal connections" during my seminar activities and job hunting starting from my third year. In the seminar, I had opportunities to meet not only my peers and seniors but also alumni, leading to many encounters and various inspirations. Stemming from that, even during job hunting, I worked hard alongside those peers and seniors, and received advice and introductions to other graduates from alumni. I was truly helped by these multi-dimensional relationships. I am nothing but grateful for the environment where I could meet friends to grow with and receive proactive support.

To all prospective students: University life at the Faculty of Business and Commerce, Keio University offers plenty of free time and many options. You can color your university life in any way you choose—whether by dedicating yourself to your studies, working part-time jobs, immersing yourself in clubs or circles, or taking on big challenges. There are also many peers, seniors, graduates, and professors who will support you. An environment that supports the path you wish to take from all directions—vertically, horizontally, and diagonally—should be waiting for you as well.
