Keio University

Seminars

Keio's tradition of hangaku hankyo, or "learning while teaching, teaching while learning," is most deeply rooted in the seminars (or study groups), which are a central aspect of the Keio education at Mita campus. In seminars, students are trained to formulate and discuss their own thoughts and ideas as they acquire specialized knowledge. Under the guidance of their seminar professor, students learn together in small groups, forming a bond that endures even after graduation.

For Faculty of Business and Commerce, a special website by Seminar Committee is available. It contains detailed information about the seminars, so please be sure to refer to it.

Testimonials from Seminar Participants

In their third and fourth years, students can further deepen their expertise through seminars that practice learning while teaching, teaching while learning in Mita Campus. While acquiring specialized knowledge in their respective fields, they form their own ideas and engage in discussions. The two years spent in each seminar will be an invaluable experience.
