Research Overview
Originally interested in social stratification and gender issues in Latin America, I researched female domestic workers in Mexico and domestic violence (primarily against women) in Costa Rica. For about 20 years, I have been involved in medical interpreting and have been studying the evolution of Japanese communities in Latin America and Latin American communities in Japan.
