Research Overview

Cellular proteostasis regulating protein folding, trafficking, and degradation helps maintain cell survival. Its disruption causes toxic protein aggregation, worsening with aging and driving protein conformational diseases. We pioneer in investigating primate-specific proteostasis adaptations, enhancing protein disaggregation and cell repair along the gut-brain axis with a focus on dysbiosis and neurodegeneration.
