Research Overview
My research examines the competitive advantage of Japanese SMEs, particularly in the machinery industry, through fieldwork-based analysis and historical inquiry. In recent years, I have focused on how competitiveness has been formed in Japan’s industrial base, especially in mold manufacturing, and on whether such advantages can be sustained in the face of competition from emerging economies such as China.
