Research Overview
I am researching the lives of women from the late Ming to the late Qing dynasty. I have been examining the social conventions and ethical norms concerning common women as reflected in judicial records and official documents. In recent years, I am also interested in the position of women within intellectual families, and I am researching topics such as adopted daughters and child-fostered brides.
