Research Overview
The major research project is the biotransformation of synthetic substrates. A variety of compounds can be transformed by enzymatic reactions. It is possible to design the structure of the substrates and the enzyme itself by protein engineering. Thus, this is a convenient method to understand the function of life in molecular level. As this kind of transformations can be performed under mild conditions, they are expected to contribute the sustainable green chemistry.
