Research Overview
It is well known that the surface of matter induces a number of interesting phenomena that are not seen for the bulk. We have been developing synchrotron-radiation-based new techniques to study chemical reactions at surfaces. We have been applying these techniques to mechanistic studies on environmental catalysts and energy-conversion catalysts, where molecular processes at the surfaces play key roles.
