Research Overview
We conduct research that integrates fundamental technologies in sensors and actuators—such as those based on ultrasound and functional fluids—with information processing techniques including AI and statistics. This work supports the development of haptic sensors and displays for next-generation sensory communication beyond audiovisual modalities, as well as cell culture and tissue engineering essential for regenerative medicine and drug discovery, and soft robotics for human–robot collaborative environments.
