Research Overview
This laboratory focuses on study of human language. Work is in progress on the Japanese FrameNet Project to build an online Japanese language database, which describes meanings of words and constructions according to background knowledge that Japanese native speakers have. The Japanese FrameNet database contains semantically annotated example sentences taken from electronic corpora and is currently being linked to another natural language resource, making it useful for humans and for various natural language processing applications.
