Research Overview
Oocytes maintain totipotency while undergoing meiosis and totipotency is unleashed at fertilization. Toward the elucidation of infertility mechanisms, we are conducting clinical research on artificial oocyte activation for restoring fertilization failure, and also basic research on the role of zygotic genome activation during embryogenesis and stem cell derivation.
