Research Overview
I have previously interpreted the distinctive characteristics of the thought and literary style of Diderot, a representative writer of 18th-century France—often called the Age of Enlightenment—using a chemical conceptual model. In addition to this work, I am currently expanding the scope of my research from the Renaissance to the French Revolution at the end of the 18th century to position Diderot's originality within a broader perspective. The focus of this ongoing study is the historical evolution of the concept of "energy", which was one of the key concepts in Diderot's thought and style.
