Research Overview

I have published two research monographs to date. My first book, The Visual Studies of the British New Wave: A Genealogy of British Cinema and Social Realism (2012), re-evaluates the "British New Wave" from the perspective of the global "new waves" of the 1960s. My second work, Graham Greene: A Cinematic Life (2018), is a literary study that explores the affinity between literature and film, centering on Greene’s activities as a film critic. In both works, I have maintained a rigorous commitment to interdisciplinarity. Currently, I am working on my forthcoming book, Nishiwaki Junzaburo: A Belated Modernist. This project aims to re-read Japanese modernist poetry through the lens of global modernism and represents the culmination of my research.
