Research Overview
I study Paul Claudel and the influence of traditional Japanese theater (Noh, Kabuki, etc.) on his synthesis of arts, union of poetry, music and dance, and his opening to spirituality. I am also interested in the history of theatrical exchange between Japan and France around Noh, as well as the relationship between Japonism and French literature.
