December 25, 2020

The 2021 Undergraduate Entrance Ceremony will be held with attendance limited to new students and a limited number of university officials in order to prioritize the health and safety of new students and to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).

We gave careful consideration to allowing family members to attend. However, we ask for your understanding of our decision, which was made in consideration of the current situation on the Hiyoshi Campus, where access to buildings is restricted to prevent infections, and the impact on the surrounding community. We realize that family members were looking forward to attending the ceremony, and we ask for your kind understanding. There will be no designated venues for families, so we ask that you please refrain from accompanying new students to the campus.

The ceremony will be streamed live online for all to watch.

*If a new student requires an escort for any reason, please contact us (see the phone number below).

*The format of the ceremony is subject to change depending on the evolving COVID-19 situation. Any changes will be announced on this webpage, so please be sure to check for the latest information.

*In the event of any changes to the ceremony's start time due to unforeseen circumstances on the day, an announcement will be made on this webpage.

<To All Attendees>
・Please use public transportation to get to the venue. Please cooperate in preventing the spread of infection by wearing a mask at all times and refraining from conversation while using public transport.
・Please take your temperature at home on the day of the ceremony. If you have a fever of 37.5°C or higher, or if you are feeling unwell, please refrain from coming to the venue. Your temperature will also be checked at the venue entrance. You will not be permitted to enter if a fever is detected.
・Please wear a mask at all times on campus and keep conversation to a minimum. Do not remove your mask, even when taking commemorative photos.
・Please note that to avoid crowding, there will be no signs or banners set up on campus. Instead, we have prepared a photo frame that can be used on your smartphone. Please access it from here .
・After the ceremony, please refrain from lingering on campus, unless you need to attend orientation or other procedures.
・Group dining (eating and drinking with others while conversing) poses a very high risk of droplet infection, as it involves talking at close range without a mask, and has been a major cause of the spread of infections. We strongly request that you strictly refrain from group dining before and after the ceremony, both on and off campus.
・At the Hiyoshi Commemorative Hall, seating has been arranged to account for COVID-19, while also considering the number of attendees from previous years. We expect that all attendees will be able to be seated inside the Hall, but please be aware that if the number of attendees significantly exceeds our expectations, you may be asked to watch the live stream from a separate venue on the Hiyoshi Campus.

<To the Families of New Students>
・We ask that family members please refrain from accompanying new students to the campus.
