HKUST is one of Asia's most prestigious universities, currently attracting significant global attention. Although a young university established only 26 years ago, it is ranked 4th in the QS Asia University Rankings 2017 and 36th in the same world rankings. HKUST and Keio University signed an agreement in 2013, with HKUST becoming a partner school in the CEMS MIM Programme .

President Tony F. Chan received his PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University, taught at Yale University and UCLA, and after a tenure at the NSF, was appointed President of HKUST in September 2009. Like Keio University President Atsushi Seike, he is also a member of the GULF (Global University Leaders Forum) at the Davos Forum (World Economic Forum).

How does President Chan, the architect of HKUST's great success, view universities around the world, universities in Asia, and university students? How can we best leverage the opportunities presented by globalization? We encourage you to attend President Chan's lecture.
