Lecture Outline
Shigeru Yoshida, Shinzo Koizumi, and Tomoo Maki played significant roles in the establishment of the National Defense Academy, and are known at the Academy as its "three benefactors." Tomoo Maki, who was involved in the management of the Juku as President Shinzo Koizumi's right-hand man, became the first president of the Academy and laid the foundation for what it is today. This lecture will trace the historical relationship between the National Defense Academy and Keio University, and introduce the education and student life at the Academy.
