The bright and open high school library boasts a substantial collection of 130,000 volumes, ranging from introductory books to specialized texts, which is impressive for a high school.
On the other hand, since the library users tend to be the same group of students, we considered how to promote the library through the students themselves. In the fall of 2024, we held a "Book Selection Tour" where students chose books at a bookstore.
In addition to selecting books, the students created "pop" displays (introductory blurbs) for their chosen titles to be exhibited in the library. The resulting displays were full of personality and variety, making for an enjoyable exhibition. We even saw students who didn't participate helping their friends with the setup. We hope that by continuing this initiative, more high school students will come to feel a closer connection to books and the library.
