COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) is continuing to spread in Japan. The number of people becoming infected without being able to identify the route of infection is increasing, as is the possibility of infecting others while not showing any symptoms, while infections are further spreading among younger people for whom until recently there had been relatively few cases.
In light of this situation, Keio University will implement its own emergency measures in consideration of the need to prioritize preventing the spread of infection and protecting the health and safety of its students, faculty and staff members, and related parties, as well as to ensure it can continue its educational, research, and healthcare activities hereafter.
Although what is required more than anything is for everyone to act calmly based on good commonsense and individual awareness so as to prevent the spread of infection, Keio University has had no other choice than to come this decision in order to fulfil its mission and social responsibility.
We kindly ask you all for your understanding and cooperation.
