Keio University organized the "Experience Japan Exhibition" study in Japan fair in London on Saturday, November 17 in cooperation with the British Council.
This event was held for the eighth time this year. Over 500 university and high school students as well as their guardians gathered enthusiastically at the booths of the 12 Japanese universities and language schools and the Japanese government-affiliated organizations based in the UK. Seminars introducing the basics of studying in Japan, actual experiences from former study abroad students to Japan, short term study programs, and research grants were held concurrently with the individual consultations given at the booths. Furthermore, to showcase one area of advanced research being carried out in Japan, Associate Professor Tomoaki Okuda of the Keio University Faculty of Science and Technology gave a lecture titled "A Cleaner Breath for a Healthier Life ― The Importance of Air Quality Research in Urban Environments." Queues seen at the booths attested to their popularity, while many questions were asked by the visitors at the seminars.
