Conferment of the Degree of Doctor of Economics, Honoris Causa, upon Professor Kap-Young Jeong, President of Yonsei University

Keio University will confer the degree of Doctor of Economics, honoris causa, to Professor Kap-Young Jeong, President of Yonsei University. This is in appreciation for his significant contributions to academia, policy and society through his research in the fields of industrial organization and public policy. It is also in recognition of his dedication to strengthening academic exchanges between Japan and Korea, and the strategic partnership between Yonsei and Keio Universities. The Conferring Ceremony and Commemorative Lecture will be held on Friday, December 5, from 14:00.

Yonsei University and Keio University have a longstanding partnership stretching over forty years. The 3-Campus Comparative East Asian Studies Program* between Yonsei University, the University of Hong Kong and Keio University was launched in 2008. Leading universities in Europe and the U.S., namely King’s College London (UK), Princeton University (US) and Cornell University (US) have been attracted to take part in this unique and successful programme.
