On Wednesday, October 9, Keio President Akira Haseyama, Vice-President Shinnosuke Obi, and Professor Emeritus Ken Sekine, Senior Advisor to President for Chinese Collaborations, led a Keio delegation on a visit to Nanjing University in China.
During the visit, President Haseyama and other members of his party paid a courtesy call to Nanjing University’s President LYU Jian. In addition to the President, the visit saw the participation of members from the School of History, School of Foreign Studies, School of Government, School of Law, and Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges at Nanjing University.
While there are also ongoing exchanges between individual researchers from Keio University and Nanjing University, at the university level exchanges are focused on the mutual hosting of students and the participation of Nanjing students in a short-term placement program hosted by the International Center. Both universities are members of the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU).
In the discussions which took place during the meeting, it was reaffirmed that further efforts to stimulate exchange between the two universities would be pursued.
