Over two years have passed since renovation work began in February 2017 at the Old Library on Mita Campus, with this scheduled to finish by the end of May of this year. The main seismic isolation work and conservation and repairs works are now finished, with maintenance work on the exterior of the building currently underway.
Following the completion of the repair work, there are plans to establish a "Keio Historical Archive Space (provisional name)" in the Old Library, aimed for completion by the summer of 2020. This space will serve as a venue to disseminate Keio’s philosophy and culture to the world while introducing its history and traditions to a wide audience. It is planned for construction work on the building interiors to be ongoing for this purpose.
