On Wednesday, October 31, representatives of Universities UK International (UUKi) and UK Universities visited Keio’s Mita Campus to exchange ideas on international cooperation at their respective institutions. The representatives were joined by members of the British Embassy in Tokyo for a presentation on Keio’s global outlook by Prof. Shinnosukue Obi, the Dean of the International Center. Then, Prof. Jiro Kokuryo, Vice-President for International Collaboration facilitated a Q&A session.
It was a productive meeting covering items ranging from the promotion of research and education in Japan and the UK, and how universities can contribute towards the Olympics and Paralympics ahead of Keio hosting the pre-games training camps for Team GB and ParalympicsGB in 2020. Before leaving, the visitors took a quick tour of the campus.
