On Wednesday, March 7, Okinawa Prefecture, Keio University, and GlaxoSmithKline Japan concluded a comprehensive partnership agreement on the promotion of Okinawa Prefecture’s health and medical information industries at Okinawa Prefectural Office.
This partnership agreement is aimed at creating new value by mobilizing data and ICT platforms. It will contribute to industrial revitalization in this field as well as enhanced regional development while striving to improve prefectural services in the field of health and medicine by means of tripartite partnership, cooperation, and joint research projects to improve the quality of health promotion and medicine on the ground in Okinawa Prefecture.
As one example, it is intend to further initiatives to support health promotion of patients and citizens, while also assisting R&D for pharmaceuticals, medical diagnoses, and therapies by supporting projects that integrate and use various medical and health information being carried out in Okinawa Prefecture from the side of academia.
