Keio Ranked First Among Japanese Universities on Certified Public Accountant Examination for 42 Years in a Row

It was announced that 1,108 individuals passed the 2016 Certified Public Accountant Examination. (Last year, 1,051 individuals passed the exam.) According to the Mita-kai of Certified Public Accountants, 139 of these individuals are graduates of Keio University. In 2016, Keio had 123 successful test takers. Keio has managed to hold the number one spot among Japanese universities again this year, topping the list of successful test takers for 42 consecutive years since 1975.
In 1980, Keio University established an accounting office within the Faculty of Business and Commerce for students studying to pass the exams to become certified public accountants and licensed tax accountants. In addition to full-time faculty members, certified public accountants and faculty members from other universities are invited to lecture, and to develop basic academic skills, worksheets are distributed and corrected. This support service is also open to Keio students not affiliated with the Faculty of Business and Commerce.
