On September 6, the Japanese Ministry of Justice announced the final results of the 2016 National Bar Examination. This year's exam saw a total of 1,583 successful candidates, down from last year's total of 1,850.
Among the successful candidates, 155 graduates of the Keio University Law School passed the exam with a passage rate of 44.3%, a slight decrease from last year's 158 successful candidates and 45.5% passage rate. This gives Keio University Law School the highest number of successful candidates and the 4th highest bar passage rate among all law schools (and the highest for a private university) in the country. In 2013, Keio University Law School was 1st in both the number of successful candidates and passage rate.
