Together with the British Council, Keio University organized the "Experience Japan Exhibition" study in Japan fair in London on Saturday, November 19. This event, which is London’s biggest study in Japan fair, was held for the sixth time in 2016.
This year, fifteen Japanese universities and language schools and five Japanese organizations based in the UK set up booths at the event. Approximately 680 people from the UK and other European countries came, which was about a 30 percent increase from last year. From start to finish, the booth area was full of visitors who were actively looking for information on studying and working in Japan.
In addition, a variety of seminars, including those on studying in Japan, study in Japan experiences by British students, research activities in Japan, employment in Japan, Japanese otaku pop culture by Kazunori Sugiura, Associate Professor at Keio University's Graduate School of Media Design, and insights into Japanese culture through the Japanese language were held. At these talks, the audience members looked eager to deepen their knowledge of Japan and were listening to the speakers with great interest.
Furthermore, a return ticket to Japan was kindly provided by a sponsor, with the purpose of giving one lucky winner a chance to come to Japan to experience what studying in Japan would be like. The winner received the prize from President Seike.
