Spring 2015 Postgraduate Entrance Ceremony

Keio University held its Postgraduate Entrance Ceremony at the Hiyoshi Commemorative Hall on Friday, April 3, 2015. This Spring Semester, Keio welcomed a total of 1,844 students into the 14 graduate schools (1,377 students in master's programs, 263 in doctoral programs, and 204 in professional degree programs).

The ceremony began with Vice-President Akira Haseyama's Incoming Class Report, followed by a welcome address by President Atsushi Seike in both Japanese and English. He spoke about the importance of increasing expertise in each field of research and devoting oneself to acquiring high level knowledge and skills.
Prof. Kinji Akashi, committee member of the Graduate School of Law, gave a Congratulatory Address on behalf of Keio faculty and staff members, and the ceremony ended with all those in attendance joining to sing the Alma Mater, "The Juku-ka."

Before and after the ceremony the new graduate students could be seen around Hiyoshi Campus taking pictures and chatting with family and friends. On the day, there were also orientations held for each graduate school, and in this relaxed atmosphere students took their first steps as Keio University graduate school students.
