Fall 2012 Keio University Commencement Ceremony
Fall 2012 Keio University Graduate Schools Commencement Ceremony was held on Tuesday, September 18 at West Hall, Mita Campus. 76 doctoral and 97 master degrees – a total of 173 degrees – were conferred on students, many of whom were from abroad, so the ceremony was filled with an international atmosphere.
Following the graduating class report from Prof. Akira Haseyama, Vice-President of Keio University, President Atsushi Seike conferred the diploma on the representatives of the graduates. After that, Prof. Shoichi Sasaki of Graduate School of System Design and Management delivered a congratulatory speech on behalf of faculty members. The ceremony ended with singing of Alma Mater “The Juku-ka” by all the participants.
The commencement ceremony for Undergraduate Programs was also held on the afternoon of the same day. The number of the graduates were 214 in all. (Faculty of Law: 72, Faculty of Science and Technology: 14, Faculty of Policy Management: 67, Faculty of Environment and Information Studies: 61)

Prof. Shun Ishizaki of Faculty of Policy Management, delivered a congratulatory speech on behalf of faculty members. After a farewell address delivered by the representative of the students and a speech in reply on behalf of the graduating students, the ceremony ended with Alma Mater “The Juku-ka” sung by all the participants.
Enrollment in September of Keio University started in 1990. The Commencement Ceremony for those of first enrolled in September 1990 was held at Shonan Fujisawa Campus in September 1994, and 18 students of Faculty of Policy Management and 31 students of Faculty of Environment and Information Studies were graduated. Since then, Keio University held Fall Commencement Ceremony each year and many of alumni are active not only in Japan, but also in the world.
