Observation of the Annular Eclipse

Update:May 23, 2012

On May 21, 2012, an annular eclipse was observed at points all over Japan. Viewing parties were held by students at Keio-affiliated schools including Yochisha Elementary School, and university students and faculty alike were also seen observing the eclipse on each of Keio University's campuses.

In Tokyo and surrounding areas, early-morning clouds cast doubts on the visibility of the eclipse. But at around 7:35 AM, when the eclipse was at its fullest, the annular eclipse broke through the clouds in many places, causing an eruption of cheer from those able to see it.
