Request for Donations to the Keio University Tohoku - Pacific Earthquake Relief Fund

Keio University, in cooperation with all its constituent members (alumni, students, guardians, faculty, staff and other members), is now soliciting donations from far and wide for its Tohoku - Pacific Earthquake Relief Fund in order to provide the maximum support possible to the victims of the recent earthquake. We kindly request the cooperation of our constituent members and all individuals who agree with the objectives of this relief fund. Details are as follows.

Many Keio alumni, students and family members have been affected by the extensive damage wrought by the recent Tohoku-Pacific Earthquake. Our hearts go out to all the victims of this disaster, and we pray for the safety of all of the affected persons who find themselves in difficult situations both physically and emotionally. We also hope for the speedy recovery of the affected regions.

In the past, Yukichi Fukuzawa worked to provide support to disaster-stricken areas on several occasions by collecting donations. Keio University, the Keio Alumni Association and the All Keio Student Senate, in cooperation with all of Keio's constituent members and with those individuals who agree with our aims, have established the Tohoku-Pacific Earthquake Relief Fund in order to provide the maximum support possible to the victims of the earthquake.

We kindly request the understanding and cooperation of all who agree with the objectives of the Tohoku - Pacific Earthquake Relief Fund.

Your generous donations will be given to the Japanese Red Cross and will also be used to support medical relief efforts on the ground. With assistance from Tokyo Prefecture, Keio University has already sent the Keio University Medical Relief Team, composed of university hospital physicians, nurses, pharmacists and staff members, to the disaster area.
