Chaire Louis Vuitton Japan: 4th Public Lecture was held

The “Chaire Louis Vuitton Japan”, a year-long, thematic seminar course open to all Keio graduate students has been hosted jointly by Keio University, Louis Vuitton Japan and the French Embassy in Japan. The series of seminars are aimed at nurturing young people with global perspectives who can successfully fulfill the needs of the diversifying modern international community. In addition to the regular seminars for graduate students, public lectures are held quarterly for the general public interested in the subject field. In the fall semester, two lectures are held at the Graduate School of Business and Commerce focus on “Governance and Leadership”.

The 4th Public Lecture, the last of this academic year was held at North Building Hall, Mita Campus of Keio University on Monday, 15 January 2007. Dr. Ludovic Cailluet, Associate Professor at Sciences Sociales, Toulouse University delivered keynote speech entitled “Culture as Strategic Tool: An International Perspective” followed by panel discussion joined by Mr. Kiyotaka Fujii, President and CEO of Louis Vuitton Japan Company and Tetsuyuki Yoneyama, Director of Daiwa Investor Relations Co.,Ltd., presided by Dr. Robert Tobin, Professor at Faculty of Business and Commerce, Keio University. The venue was filled with graduate students, researchers and general public interested who actively participated discussion after the keynote speech and the panel discussion.

The first Public Lecture of next series is planned to be held in the middle of April, 2007.
