Yonsei-Keio-Rikkyo-Fudan Leadership Forum 2006

Update:Sep. 19, 2006

The Yonsei-Keio-Rikkyo-Fudan Leadership Forum 2006 was held from Monday, August 21 to Friday, August 25 at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea.

The Leadership Forum, whose creation was inspired by Japan-South Korea collaboration in hosting the 2002 FIFA World Cup, had been held jointly by Yonsei University (Korea), Rikkyo University and Keio University (Japan) every summer. With Fudan University (China) joining the Forum this year, the program has become a unique opportunity for students from Korea, Japan and China to get together and exchange ideas.

With this year’s theme being “Culture”, the program included lectures by prominent professors from Korea and presentations and group discussions by students, all in English. The students stayed in a dormitory at Yonsei University and actively communicated with each other outside the program as well. Dressed up each in his/her own way for the farewell party co-sponsored by the Japanese and Chinese embassies in Korea, the students promised to deepen their bonds as leaders of East Asia's future.

This year’s Forum ended as a great success and even further progress is expected in future. The 2007 Forum will be held in Japan, and the venue for 2008 will be Shanghai, China.
