Keio Participated in the 4th Millennium Forum Held in Korea

The 4th Millennium Forum was held at Korea University on October 31st and November 1st, with President Yuichiro Anzai, Vice-President Tatsuya Sakamoto, Dean Masao Okonogi of the Faculty and Graduate School of Law, and two other professors attending and contributing as panelists and discussants. The aim of the forum was for Korea, Yonsei, Waseda, and Keio universities to strengthen their mutual exchange programs and further develop their collaborative relationships in other areas.

The theme for 2005 was "Promoting Forward-Looking Partnerships between Korea and Japan". The forum consisted of 3 sessions: the sub-theme for the first session was "Future of International Exchange and Academic Cooperation between Korea and Japan: Initiatives by Four Universities", in which presidents from the four universities acted as panelists and exchanged views on how they can work together to increase joint initiatives. The sub-theme for the second session was "Political and Security Cooperation", and the sub-theme for the third session was "Economic, Social and Cultural Cooperation", in which professors from the four universities engaged in active discussion of the issues involved.

Many students, professors and researchers also participated and contributed to the overall success of the forum.

The keynote speech was given by Kang Shin-Ho, Chairman of the Federation of Korean Industries.
