New Partnership with Swedish University:Lund University

Update:Oct. 21, 2005

On Monday October 17, Keio signed a comprehensive exchange agreement with Lund University. The ceremony was held at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the academy that awards Nobel prizes. Keio was represented by Prof. Tatsuya Sakamoto, Vice-President for International Collaboration, and Prof. Shinnosuke Obi, Director of the International Center. Lund Assistant Vice-Chancellor Prof. Björn Wittenmark represented the Swedish university at the signing ceremony.

Keio’s agreement with Lund outlines significant student exchange goals between the universities to begin in the next academic year. Lund University was founded in 1666 and is one of the largest research and higher education institutions in Sweden. In last year’s Times Higher Education World Rankings, Lund was ranked 5th among Swedish Universities.
