The Japan OCW Alliance: 7 universities hold joint-press conference
Keio University, in conjunction with Osaka University, Kyoto University, the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo University and Waseda University, has announced the establishment of the Japan OCW Alliance. This newly-formed alliance recently signed a cooperative agreement with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to make lecture information available to the public and to participate in global knowledge-sharing in accordance with MIT’s OCW (OpenCourseWare) standards.
On the 13th of May, Presidents of the six participating Japanese universities made a joint press release at the Hotel New Otani located in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
Representatives of MIT were also in attendance and a video greeting from MIT President Susan Hockfield was shown during the press conference.
